Claudia Langdon Obituary
Claudia C. Langdon of E. Haddam/Colchester, CT went home to be with her Saviour on April, 30, 2025. She was born on August 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Harold F. Carlson and Dorothy B. Carlson. She was the sister of Carl Carlson (Janet). Claudia was born in Hartford, CT, grew up in Bristol, CT and graduated from Bristol Eastern High School.
Claudia married Arthur J. Langdon (deceased) on May 4, 1963. They met on a blind date on New Year's Eve of 1962. On May 4, 2023, they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They have four children: Cindy Lulsdorf (Tom), Nancy Hill (Tim), Art (Beth) and Dave (Jackie); nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and Peggy Rouleau (Dave's mother-in-law).
Claudia worked for Travelers Insurance Company after graduating from high school. She was a Navy military wife for three years while Art served aboard the USS Lake Champlain. Together in 1972, Claudia and Art started and owned a rental business, Action Rentals, selling it in 1978. She was the bookkeeper for several companies including Action Rentals, Hartford Christian Academy, The Standard Newspaper and most recently at Noel's Market for over 40 years (just recently retired). Claudia was also a Pastor's wife for 16 years while Art pastored Lebanon Bible Church.
In 1970, Claudia began attending a Bible Study and realized her need for salvation. She trusted in Jesus and is now spending eternity in Heaven.
Claudia loved spending time with her family in her home affectionately known as the "Hangout" - any time spent with them brought her such joy and happiness. One of her favorite places to hang out with the family was on the big deck at her home. If she was not on the deck, you would find her in the rocking chair, knitting.
Claudia's favorite hobby was knitting, otherwise known as "tying knots". Everyone in her family has their own afghan, a special item to cherish from her. Even friends of the family got their own afghan for weddings, for a baby, or a housewarming. If she wasn't knitting an afghan, she was knitting a dishcloth for someone.
As the family would often say when parting ways: "We love you Mom, we love you more than tongue can tell"
There will be a private burial service for immediate family only. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton, CT. At Claudia's request there will be no service.
