Colleen Sadick Obituary

Colleen Lanigan Sadick, 61, of Seymour, faced every challenge in life with grace, strength, and love. She passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her children and sisters, after a courageous battle with myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare form of bone marrow cancer.Born on March 30, 1964, Colleen grew up in Ansonia and graduated from Ansonia High School in 1982. She later settled in Seymour, where she raised her family and built lifelong friendships. In her early years, Colleen lovingly ran a home daycare, where her patience, joy, and compassion touched the lives of countless children. She later went on to work as a special education paraprofessional, where she shared that same dedication and kindness with her students, treating them as if they were her own. Above all else, Colleen was a devoted mother. She was her children's biggest cheerleader, present on the sidelines, in the audience at dance recitals, and at every milestone along the way. She raised Chelsea, Dylan, and Ian with unwavering love, devotion, and support, leaving them with countless memories of her guidance, encouragement, and care. Colleen was also the kind of friend everyone wishes for, always there with open arms, ready to listen, and quick to welcome others into her home. Her warmth and generosity created a space where everyone felt like family. She is survived by her three beloved children, Chelsea, Dylan, and Ian Sadick, all of Seymour; her sisters, Kathleen Lanigan and Kelly Kahyaoglu, both of Ansonia; her niece Kristen Lanigan; nephews Jayden, Connor, and Bailey Kahyaoglu; her former in-laws, Edward and Rita Sadick of Derby, her extended family, including her dear relatives in Scotland; and her adored dog, Luna. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Lanigan and Margaret "Maggie" Hicks; her brother, Seann Hicks; and her nephew, Ryan Pepe. Colleen was a lover of the beach and could often be found enjoying the ocean or relaxing by her backyard pool. She relished time spent with family and friends, often with a Corona or Bloody Mary in hand. Her laughter, kindness, and love of life will be remembered by all who knew her. Colleen will be remembered for her devotion to her children, her selfless love for her family and friends, and the joy and comfort she brought into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. September 25, 2025

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Colleen would walk or jog by my house and she would stop to talk.
I prayed se would get better but God in Heaven had other plans for her kind Soul. May she Rest in Peace and may her family and friends find solace in their time of grief.
