Daniel Emery Obituary

Daniel Anthony Emery, 44, of Windsor, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, surrounded by his family at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on July 21, 1981, son of Theresa (Troiano) Emery of Windsor and the late Charles Jeffery Emery, he was raised in Windsor, attended Windsor Public Schools and was a graduate of Windsor High School, Class of 1999. While growing up in Windsor, Daniel enjoyed playing basketball, and riding bikes and later motorcycles with his siblings and his friends. He always looked forward to vacationing with his family at their camp in Upstate New York on the Black River. There he enjoyed fishing, swimming, and spending time with his family including his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. After high school, Daniel moved to Huntington Beach, CA with his brother Paul and he took a position at an electronics store. A year later, he returned to Connecticut and moved to West Hartford where he lived for several years before returning to Windsor in 2018. Daniel spent most of his career as a cook and as a manager at several restaurants in the Hartford area. Daniel was very proud of his diverse group of friends, all of whom he was very close to. He was always generous with his time and was always willing to help anyone. He loved spending time with his sister's children and his dog Taia who passed away in 2015. Prior to his father's passing in 2020, Daniel and his father Charles enjoyed target shooting and often spent the afternoons at Blue Trail Range in Wallingford. Most of all, Daniel will be remembered as a dedicated and loyal son, brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his mother, Theresa (Troiano) Emery, he leaves three siblings, Paul Emery and his wife LaVonne of Suffield, Jeffery Emery of Windsor, and Theresa Hawkins and her husband Len of Burlington, MA; two nieces, Tatiana and Serena Hawkins both of Burlington, MA; a nephew, Maxwell Hawkins of Burlington, MA; his lifelong friend, Brad Garvin-Nusz of East Windsor; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His family will receive friends on Friday, September 19, 5-8 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, September 20, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 or by visiting, www.cthumane.org/donate.
