Daniel F. Healey

Daniel F. Healey, 94, of Hingham, MA and formerly of Avon, CT, beloved husband of the late Mary (Shoulder) Healey, passed away peacefully Wednesday September 24, 2025. Born in Somerville, MA, son of the late Daniel F. and Kathleen (Lloyd) Healey, he was raised in Somerville graduating from St. Clements Catholic High School. Dan spent his professional career in insurance with positions with the Hartford Insurance Company first in Boston, then New York, then Hartford. Dan and Mary moved to Avon where they lived and raised their family until moving to Hingham to be cared for by his family. He and his late wife Mary were active parishioners in the Church of Saint Ann in Avon where he served in many roles on the parish council, on the Bereavement Group, and with the Men of Saint Ann. He also enjoyed golf and was past president of the Men's Club at Farmington Woods Golf Club and numerous senior leagues. He is survived by his seven children who love him dearly Daniel F. Healey, Jr. of New Hartford, CT, Mary T. Healey of Hingham, MA, Patricia H. and husband John Sullivan of Dover, NH, James L. Healey of Simsbury, CT, Virginia M. and husband Kevin Boyle of Millis, MA, Thomas C. Healey and wife Michelle of Natick, MA, and Joseph E. Healey and wife Elizabeth of Harpers Ferry, WV; grandchildren Brendan Sullivan and his wife Rea, Meghan Sullivan and her fiancé, Matthew Napoli, Christopher Boyland and his fiancé, Juliette Welch, and Conor Boyland, Kevin and Evelyn Boyle, and Quinn, Liam, and Daniel A. Healey; and great grandchildren Harrison, Margaret, and Brigit Sullivan. His family will receive friends Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 10- 11 AM prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donors' choice.
