Daryl Wiggins Obituary

In Loving Memory of Daryl Lee Wiggins February 18, 1971 – December 30, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daryl Lee Wiggins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, who left us on December 30, 2024, at the age of 53. Daryl was born on February 18, 1971, in Springfield, MA, to the late Willie L. Wiggins and Patricia J. Brown, and was also raised by his stepfather, Thomas Brown. He grew up in Springfield, where he attended Putnam Vocational Technical High School and was known for his athleticism and energy. Daryl is survived by his wife, Melissa Garnett Wiggins, their 4 children: Shanae Wiggins, Daryl Dean Wiggins, Jamel Hunter and Imani Wiggins-Johnson, and 1 son-in-law Nathan Johnson. He was a proud grandfather to 3 grandchildren: Nathan Johnson, Nolan Johnson, and Brooke Auston. He is also survived by his 5 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: Michael Wiggins (Miriam), Timothy Forbes, Maurice Brown, (Vicki Brown), Jeffrey Wiggins (Ebony), and Jayme Wiggins, along with numerous aunts, unlces, nieces, and nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him. A celebration of Daryl's life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. John's Congregational Church, 45 Hancock Street, Springfield, MA. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Daryl, please visit our floral store.
