David W. Pelkey

David W. Pelkey, 71, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of 17 years to Paula (Mead) Pelkey. David was born on October 4, 1953 in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Warren Albert and Hazel Mabel (Snow) Pelkey. He was a lifelong resident of Enfield, having attended local grammar schools and was a 1971 graduate of Enfield H. S. where he also played on the football team. He most recently delivered oil for State Line Propane and Oil Co, Suffield. He retired due to health issues in 2021. In his younger years he coached Enfield Ramblers Football. Dave enjoyed duck hunting with longtime friend, fishing with his boys, boating in Mystic for the past 25+ years, ball room dancing for 20+ years, loved watching football and hosted super bowl parties for 25 years or so. Besides his wife Paula, he is also survived by his two sons Craig Pelkey& his wife Amanda of Enfield, and Ryan Pelkey of Mystic, a stepson David Scalia & his wife Caron of Milford, and stepdaughter Kym Scalia of Jacksonville, FL, six beloved grandchildren and four cherished great grandchildren. As well as his brother Kevin Pelkey and his wife Liz of Enfield and several nieces and nephew. Relatives and friends may join his family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
