Dennis C. Gallo

NEW HARTFORD – Dennis C. Gallo, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. He was the loving husband of Dawn (Parker) Gallo for 59 wonderful years. Born October 9, 1946 in New Britain; the son of the late Carl and Blanche (Dudack) Gallo. Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. He then worked for SNET/ AT&T for 32 years before retiring in 1996. At that time, Dennis started his own business working as a Telecommunications Technician to present day. He was a diligent, hard worker that was extremely gifted with his hands. He could fix anything and did. He was instrumental in the development of Brown's Corner in New Hartford and ran the "Gallo's Galley" Snack bar for many years. He loved baseball and was an avid Red Sox turned Yankees fan. Dennis was a disciplined athlete, often swimming every day before work. He enjoyed bird watching and collecting many things including circus memorabilia. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting and restoring Lionel and American Flyer trains. He was also a talented musician skilled at the piano, guitar and drums. Dennis was a devout and true friend, maintaining many friendships for years. He loved spending time with his family especially at their home on Cape Cod, creating many memories especially watching sunsets with his cherished wife. In addition to his wife, he leaves his beloved children, Dean Gallo and wife Yasuko of MA, Davey Gallo and wife Shelley of New Hartford, Daniel Gallo of New Hartford and Dorian Kruczek and husband Jason of New Hartford; cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Garrett, Spencer, Mikaela, Marina, Kenji, Kazuki and Meadow; two great granddaughters and a brother, David Gallo and wife Sharon of Kensington. Friends may call on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 39 Prospect Street, New Hartford at 11 AM with Military Honors to follow.
