Dianne Deshaies Obituary

Dianne Antoinette (Aceto) Deshaies, 76, of Plainville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving and devoted husband of over 48 years, Albert Deshaies, was by her side. Dianne was born on March 27, 1949, in Portland, Maine daughter to the late Anthony and Louise (Hatch) Aceto. Dianne graduated from Southington High School, where her intelligence and spirit first shone brightly. She went on to a distinguished career at The Hartford, where her dedication and hard work earned her the position of supervisor before she transitioned in 1995 to serve the State of Connecticut in the Department of Probation and Parole. Dianne retired in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of commitment to public service. Dianne's passion for life was evident in her many interests. An avid bowler, she proudly participated in the Senior Bowling League at Lessard Lanes, where she forged friendships and filled the lanes with laughter and smiles. She had a special fondness for banana splits, which brought her simple joy and sweetness into life. For over 50 years, Dianne was a faithful member of the Church of the Bible in Plainville. A true Child of God, her deep commitment to her faith was a guiding light, as she prayed daily and cherished her Bible. Through every challenge life presented, Dianne's unyielding spirit and faith illuminated the path ahead, inspiring those who were fortunate enough to be part of her journey. In addition to her husband, Albert Deshaies, Dianne is survived by her children, Hope Deshaies Marcelynas and her husband, Jeffrey, and Kenneth Deshaies and his wife, Lisa; her grandchildren, Emily Marcelynas, Kaitlyn Deshaies, Vanessa Xiques, and Kimmy Xiques; her sister, Kimberly Delisa; her brother, Wayne Fish; her only niece, Amanda Johnston and her partner, Giovanni Grajales; her best friends, Eileen Lynch and Molly Nickerson; her furry companions, Kassie Lee and Mr. Magoo; and many extended family members, church family, and friends. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 12 to 2 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. A Service in Celebration of Dianne's life led by Pastor Michael J. Zahra, former pastor of the Church of the Bible in Plainville, whom had the honor to marry Albert and Dianne in 1977, will begin at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately at the CT State Veterans Cemetery. Donations in honor of Dianne's commitment to help others can be made to the Plainville Community Food Pantry at 54 South Canal Street, Plainville, CT 06062. I worked with Dianne for many years at The Hartford. Her faith and love for our Heavenly Father and Savior was very evident and genuine.
I wish I had stayed in touch with her. Rest in His loving presence, Sister.
