Dion Thomas Obituary
Dion Jahmal Lee Thomas Sr., age 35, was born on March 7, 1990, to Quanetta Thomas and Kendrick Smalls. He was a lifelong resident of New Haven County, where he attended school in both New Haven and Hamden. A proud graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, Dion went on to build a career as a cable installer, a profession he worked in for many years with dedication and pride. Dion was known for his infectious laughter, uplifting spirit, and the way he could light up any room with his presence. To know him was to love him. He was a devoted son, father, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. His humor, warmth, and loyalty left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of sharing life with him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Quanetta Thomas; his father, Kendrick Smalls; his grandmothers, Bernice Smalls and Carol Blue; Margie Bell(New Haven) and his grandfather, Ernest Williams (New Haven) siblings, Lapreis Thomas (New Haven), S'ence Thomas (New Haven), Joseph, J'Hari,(New Haven) Javar (Florida), Treyanna (New Haven), Kenyatta Pierce (New Haven), Leslie Brantley (New Haven), Jacari Tinsley (New Haven), Taylor Holloway (New Haven), His children Dion Jahmal Lee Thomas Jr (Tennessee) AvaRose Ariana Thomas (west haven), Milani'Rose Virginia Thomas (Virginia) his service dog Onyx, his very close best friends Annebelle Brown , Reginald Lewis, Robby Nunez, and a host of God brothers, God sisters, aunts uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by Davina Hawkins (New Haven). Dion's memory will continue to live on through his family, friends, and all who loved him deeply. Though he may be gone from this earth, the joy, love, and laughter he shared with us remain eternal. Psalm 23 says, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. The family would like to thank all those that came out to celebrate the life of Dion. Keep us in your prayers and remember today is a hard day for all of us, but it doesn't end today.
