Dolores Stefano

Dolores "Dee" (Carpenteri) Stefano, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, John, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Dolores was born in Hartford on October 15, 1930, to the late Joseph and Concetta (Inturrisi) Carpenteri. Dee was born and raised in Hartford and later settled in Wethersfield where she created a welcoming home filled with warmth, laughter and the delicious aroma of her cooking. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether through a home-cooked meal, a walk shared with a friend or time spent with family. She was an avid reader and you could find her any day in the aisles of the Wethersfield Library. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by the people she loved. She enjoyed her several trips to Sicily with her four daughters. She had a career as a Medical Assistant with Hartford Medical Groups that would last over thirty years, beginning in their OBGYN department and eventually settling in Cardiology. Dee is survived by her four loving daughters, Jean Anne Lavoie (Dennis) of West Palm Beach, Fl, Marie Messina (Dan) of New Caanan, Margaret Stefano and Theresa Haydasz, both of Wethersfield. She was a cherished grandmother to Jason, Greg, Michael, Danielle and Lauren and a proud great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by extended family including numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece, Rosemary, who remained close throughout her life. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the Stefano family on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Dee's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley Street, New Britain. All attendees are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that loved ones celebrate Dee's memory by gathering with family and friends, sharing a meal and holding each other close – just as she always did.
