Donata P. Teta

Donata "Donna" (Polletta) Teta, age 79, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the loving wife of Mario Teta, Sr. Born on August 2, 1945, in Pontelandolfo, Italy, Donna was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna (Perugini) Polletta. Along with her family, Donna came to America when she was a young girl. She met Mario, the love of her life, through her twin brother Sal. They married in 1965 and began their family. She worked as a supervisor for her family's business, Teta Active Apparel, LLC for over 20 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Lucy's Church. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Donna was happiest when cooking for her family, who all lived within minutes of her. She loved to laugh and was truthful to a fault. She adored her grandchildren, her fur babies, and her cockatiels. In addition to Mario, her loving husband of 60 years, Donna is survived by her sons Pasquale "Pat" Teta and his wife Kathleen and Mario Teta, Jr.; her beloved grandchildren Jenessa Melninkaitis and her husband Nicholas, Nico Teta, Danielle Teta, Jason Teta, and Jaden Teta; all of Wolcott. She also leaves her brothers Domenic Polletta and her twin Salvatore Polletta and his companion Louise Costello, both of Wolcott, and her sisters-in-law Nancy Ciarleglio of Oakville, Elvira Botte of Wolcott, and Esther Rousseau of Watertown as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law and best friend, Angela Polletta. Donna's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Basil the Great Parish, St. Pius X Church, 517 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private. Maiorano Funeral home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
