Donna M. Craven

On October 7, 2025, as the sun set, an artistic spirit left this world. Donna Craven was a master of the textile, fiber and culinary arts. She shared her creations with family, friends, neighbors and people in need. She loved to garden, read a good mystery, hike through the woods and collect seashells on Mayflower Beach. Donna Dvorchak was born on October 24, 1948 in Springfield, MA to Edward A. Dvorchak and Barbara (Rogers) Dvorchak. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, class of 1966. She received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Hartford and pursued her final goal of becoming an APRN. Her career was spent caring for children and adolescents at the Institute for Living in Hartford, CT and Hartford Hospital. She met her future husband, Larry while roller skating at Rollerway at Riverside Park in Agawam, MA. They married in 1972 and welcomed their son Jeremy in 1975. Sadly, Larry died in 1988. Donna is survived by her son Jeremy Craven, his wife Tonya and granddaughters Harper and Hayley of Henderson, NV. She also leaves her brother Ed Dvorchak and his wife Kathy of Belchertown, MA and her sister Kathy Daly and her husband Tom of Northborough, MA. She will be remembered by her niece, Meaghan and her nephews, David, Kristopher, Matthew, Sean and Brian. Her memory will be carried forward by her great-nieces and great-nephews, Addison, Niall, Heidi, Evan and Julian. She also leaves her Aunt Tess Dvorchak, Aunt Marion Rogers and many cousins with fond memories. Donna gives a special good-bye to her lifelong friend Carolyn Magistri Beggs. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Avenue, Enfield. Please gather at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels at 9:00 a.m. to form the funeral procession. Burial will follow at Hazardville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Hospice, 770 Converse St., Longmeadow, MA, 01106. Donna, you faced your final challenge with courage and dignity.
