Doreen Agnes McFadyen Cameron, 89, passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by her family on Monday August 18, 2025. Her journey on this earth
was one marked by her deep love of family and friends, and being the honest

the hearts and minds of the many lives she touched.
Mom, Mum, Seanhie, Auntie-Do or Doreen as she was affectionately known,
was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born in 1936 the youngest of four children raised in a Glasgow suburb, Doreen
often reminisced over the vast beauty, sights and sounds of her native Scotland.
During the war her parents were keenly focused on keeping all the children safe.
One of her most memorable events during the war, the infamous Clydebank Blitz,
occurred on her fth birthday. She recalled after the air cleared her family was!
able to enjoy her awaiting birthday cake which was on her mind all day long.
The true meaning of family has remained deeply ingrained within her throughout
her entire life.
In 1961, Doreen and her husband Ian left Scotland, moved to America and
became U.S. citizens. They settled down in the Hartford area to begin their new
life together far from home. After moving her growing family from her favorite
home in Ellington, she became a West Hartford resident for the next 50 years.
During her working years she enjoyed being the of ce manager at a local dental
of ce until her retirement. Throughout her life Doreen was a homemaker at heart
who enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting, and playing cards. She was fortunate to
travel abroad every year with her sister Irene visiting numerous countries
throughout Europe. Her bridge group, tea socials, and knitting club, kept her
engaged, competitive and social throughout her life. Spending quality time with
her children, family members and friends both near and far was her heartbeat,
always.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers
during this difficult time.
A celebration of Doreen's life will be planned at a time and location in the near
