Doris Watkins Obituary

Doris M. Watkins, 104, of Rocky Hill, CT, passed away at the Hospital of Central Connecticut on Sept. 22, 2025. She was the beloved mother of Francine D. Connelly and Larry D. Watkins. She was born in Bronx, New York to the late Bertha and August Hagen and is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Francis G. Watkins. Doris is also predeceased by her companion of many years, Edward Polomsky and her son-in-law Charles Connelly. Doris was always "young at heart" and remained active, enjoying dancing and music until her passing. Her longevity and independent attitude were an inspiration to many. We would like to thank her caregivers, Jessica and Winifred, from Marhema Homecare for their wonderful care and kindness, as well as her previous aides from Caregiving by Kathy. She was a long-time resident of The Lodge at Cold Spring, and we thank the staff and many residents for their friendship and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sept. 29,2025 at 10 a.m. in St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, Saint Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St. Rocky Hill, CT. Internment immediately following at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, CT. Arrangements are being handled by Brooklawn Funeral Home, Rocky Hill, CT.
