Dustin Moore Obituary
Dustin Gregory Moore, MD, 27, of Unionville, CT and formerly of Berlin, NH, died Monday, March 24, 2025, at Connecticut Children's Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. Dustin was born in North Conway, NH, son of Gregory G. and Lynn M. (Laroche) Moore and raised in Berlin, NH graduating from Berlin High School as Valedictorian of his Class in 2015. A brilliant student with great promise, he earned his BS in Biomedical Science: Medical Laboratory Science and his MA in Nutritional Science from the University of New Hampshire. He earned his MD from UCONN Medical School and hoped to continue to residency in Neurology. He loved his cat/son, Finn, and celebrated the times he was able to walk him outside on a leash. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially camping in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, even sleeping in a hammock instead of a tent until he found his love, Aditi, whom he loved to share a tent with. Dustin always treated his friends like valued members of his family. His family and friends describe Dustin as authentic, confident, kind, adventurous, smart (studying less and acquiring better scores than others), compassionate, caring, charismatic, and determined. Dustin had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and completely accepted for who they were. Dustin worked to overcome any of his fears, like his fear of heights, by jumping out of a plane. He was excited to learn and experience the world and spent time traveling the United States and foreign countries like Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom to name a few. He was never one to shy away from a challenge. He rode his bicycle across the country from Washington state to Connecticut to raise money for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp benefiting children with cancer. He won the Sonoslam, an ultrasound competition, two years in a row, with his team mates, Julia, Taylor, and Ryan, who traveled to Florida in 2023 and Texas in 2024 to compete at nationals. He was also proud of winning the Beer Olympics twice at the Loves' yearly gathering. He enjoyed great food of any kind especially Sushi, Oysters, and French cuisine and he became a pretty good cook himself. He packed his lunches with raw fruits and vegetables, especially beets which he enjoyed immensely. He also enjoyed trying different types of liquor and beer even following the beer trail with friends. He enjoyed watching F1 racing and even attended a race weekend in Canada with friends. He loved vinyl records and listing to music while sipping on Japanese whisky. Dr. Moore's career goals to help many was cut short by his own courageous battle with cancer. Besides his parents, Gregory and Lynn of Berlin, NH; he leaves his life partner Aditi L. Anam of Avon; his brother Michael D. Moore of Berlin, NH; his Paternal Grandfather Robert D. Moore and his wife Pamela of Winter Haven, FL; his Maternal Grandfather Ronald H. Laroche of Berlin, NH; his Paternal Great Grandmother Pierrette Couture of Berlin, NH; and friends, Julia Neri, Callista Love, and Taylor Doolan who stood beside him during his illness; and of course his beloved cat/son Finnick Anam-Moore. He was predeceased by Paternal Grandmother Louise E. Couture and Maternal Grandmother Dianne N. Laroche. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Dustin did not want anyone to remember him by spending money in his honor, however, if anyone is inclined to support the work done by the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, please feel free to donate to Connecticut Children's Foundation, Attn.
