Edward Fernandez Obituary

Edward Gene Fernández, 50, of New Haven, CT died suddenly on Saturday, June7, 2025 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, York St. Campus from injuries received after being stricken by a motor vehicle earlier that day. Edward was born in New Haven on June 22, 1974, a son of Leona Geraci of New Haven and the late Heriberto Fernández, and was a lifelong city resident. Prior to his disability, he was a machine operator for the former George Schmidt & Co. of Branford. Ed was a jokester who loved spending time with family, especially his son Edward and his grandchildren. He is survived by his son Edward Gene (Jessica) Fernández, Jr. of New Haven, one brother, Shawn (Ashley) Fernández of East Haven, three grandchildren, Edward Gene Fernández, III, Tommy-Michael Fernández and Leileanee Fernández, and a host of extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Fernández. Ed's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 21st from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place during visitation time.
