Elsie Tarvaian Paonessa

Elsie Tarvaian Paonessa, 90, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice in Georgia, with her loving family by her side.

Born on April 23, 1935, Elsie lived in New Britain, Connecticut for nearly her entire life before moving to Woodstock, Georgia in 2021, where she resided at Benton House Assisted Living. She was married to the late Frank Paonessa, who preceded her in death in 1994.

Elsie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Frank Paonessa and Vita Laudisi, Rosanne Laucella and her husband Mike, and Dean Paonessa and his wife Karen. She also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren, Kristen Partridge and her husband Adam, Mike Paonessa, and Dominic Paonessa and his wife Emma Jo, as well as one cherished great-grandson, Xavier Partridge.

Elsie had a joyful spirit and loved to sing and dance, bringing lighthearted fun to family gatherings and celebrations. She also treasured the lifelong bond she shared with many girlfriends whose laughter and companionship were a constant source of happiness throughout her life. Long time senior companion Lorenzo Fazio, his daughter Teresa Winters and her family were also a great source of happiness in Elsie's later years.

She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured with care and devotion.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
