Erik Brooker Obituary
Obituary of Erik R. Brooker
With hearts shattered beyond measure, the family of Erik Brooker mourns his sudden and heartbreaking passing on September 14, 2025, at the tender age of fourteen. Born on March 18, 2011, to April Willard and Wyatt Brooker in Meriden, Connecticut, Erik was a radiant soul whose infectious spirit illuminated all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Erik was a young man whose passions and vibrant spirit touched everyone around him. He had a true love for adventure, spending countless hours outdoors and exploring the woods, where he felt most at home. Whether he was riding or working on his dirt bike, playing Xbox, or listening to many genres of music, Erik embraced life with energy and enthusiasm.
Fishing was a cherished pastime for Erik, especially with his dad, Dalton. Some of his best memories were made on the water, casting lines and sharing stories. A true friend and confidant, Erik treasured the company of his closest friends- Nick, Brianna, Will, Drew, Anthoney, and Sebby, to name just a few. Erik also enjoyed attending rock concerts with his dad and friends, often jumping into mosh pits and soaking up the excitement of live music.
Known for his signature look-a hat, flannels, jeans, and boots-Erik expressed his authentic spirit. Wise beyond his years, he was a devoted son and a protective big brother. Erik was unfailingly polite, always willing to lend a helping hand and always ready with his humor, to bring a smile to those around him.
Erik's love extended to his cherished animals-his dogs Chase and Sasha, his rabbit Beau, and his cat Ziggy. More than anything, he found happiness in being along side his Dad, Dalton, a constant companion, sharing countless adventures together. Erik was also a devoted, loving, and compassionate son to his mother, April, always treasuring their close bond and reciting their favorite quote together.
Erik leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his mother, April Willard, and his dad, Dalton Ford of Hebron, Connecticut; his father, Wyatt Brooker of Texas; his sisters, Kenna Ford and Briella DelVecchio of Connecticut; and his beloved grandparents: Pamela (Sorber) Willard and Michael Martovich of Berlin, Connecticut, as well as Stuart Willard and Nina Parisi of Wallingford, Connecticut. He is also survived by uncles Robert "Uncle Bud" Willard and Ryan Brooker, aunts Tracy Salvatore, Deanna Fowler, and Liza Conte and a wide circle of cousins, extended family, and friends who were all deeply touched by his radiant presence. Erik was predeceased by his cherished grandparents, Theresa and Ronald Brooker of Wallingford, Connecticut, with whom he shared a remarkable and loving bond.
Words alone cannot ease the sorrow of such an unimaginable loss, especially the loss of a child. The pain we all feel is profound and undeniable, yet there is comfort in knowing we are not alone-we face this heartache together. As we remember Erik, let us draw strength from his example and strive to be strong, brave, and fearless, finding peace and solace in each other and in the memories we hold dear.
During this challenging time, Erik's family wishes to express profound gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and the community. Funeral services will remain private. We ask that you always remember to keep fond thoughts and memories of Erik, on your mind and in your heart.
