Falgun B. "Chiko" Patel

Falgun B. "Chiko" Patel, 47, of South Windsor, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side early Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, following a brief and unexpected illness. He was born on July 29, 1977, in Nadiad, India, one of two children to Bhupendrabhai and Hansaben Patel. Chiko came to America in the late 90's and was a businessman for over 25 years who loved his customers and was loved by all. He was generous within the community, with his family and friends. As a jack of all trades, he could fix and build anything he put his mind to. He had an amazing ability to draw, think intuitively, create inventions and could solve a Rubik's Cube. He told endless jokes to brighten people's day. Chiko was a successful Cricket player in India and an enthusiastic Yankees fan in America. He enjoyed teaching and watching baseball with his children, family vacations, watching Indian and American movies and space exploration. His favorite place to be was at home spending time with his family. Through pursuing his own interests, he achieved the American Dream. With hard work, determination and initiative he built a family, liberty and great success. In addition to his wife of 20 years, Amanda (Misale) Patel, and his mother, Chiko is survived by his four children, India, Soniya, Collin and Conner Patel, all of South Windsor; his brother Yatin and his wife Nisha Patel of India; as well as his in-laws, sister in-law, brother in-laws, nephew, nieces and many extended family members. Chiko was predeceased by his father, Bhupendrabhai. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28, beginning at 2 p.m. at St. Junipero Serra Parish – St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor. All guests are asked to please go directly to the church. A Funeral Pooja will be held on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home with cremation to follow in Mt. Laurel Crematory at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Patel Education Fund" to support Chiko's children's education.
