Frank Williams Obituary

Frank "Pops" Williams Frank Williams, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 3, 2025. He was born in Easley, South Carolina, to the late George and Frances Murphy Williams. As a teen, Frank traveled to Connecticut during summer vacations and worked in the tobacco fields of western Massachusetts. It was during those summers that he fell in love with Connecticut and determined that he would one day make a life for himself there. Frank often expressed that he was happiest when working. When he relocated to Connecticut, he accepted a job as a shipper and receiver and was later employed as a mail clerk at the Federal Building in Hartford. However, the greater part of his career was spent at Colt's Manufacturing Company, where he built the trigger mechanisms of their firearms until he retired. Frank was gifted with mechanical ability and could often be seen cruising in his Buick and Cadillac Fleetwood. He was a well-dressed, dapper gentleman whose clothes matched his well-kept cars in style and elegance. While cruising in his immaculate autos, Frank enjoyed the camaraderie of his CB radio friends, who knew him by his handle, "Hot Chocolate." Frank was a proud member of Bethel AME Church, where he faithfully served as a trustee and usher. He was also a Mason in Saint Peter's Lodge. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Clark Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted daughter, Frankie Williams; his sons, Mark Loman (Mardi), Douglas Loman, Gregory Adgers Sr., Ricky Adgers Sr., Jeffrey Adgers Tulloch-Reid (Rosalind), and Maximilian Copeland; his stepdaughters, Zethelyn Monts and Helen (Tina) Monts; and his brother, Curtis Williams. Frank also leaves behind 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons: Kevin Wilson, Shelton Loman, and Stanley Williams; two grandsons: Jeffrey Adgers Jr. and Brian Adgers; and one great-great-granddaughter, Sania Williams.
