Frederick Britschock Obituary

Frederick Paul Britschock, 89 of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. Born on August 17, 1936, in Ohlau, Germany, Frederick immigrated to the United States in 1950. During his school years, he met the love of his life, MaryAnn (Diekewicz). After falling in love and beginning their life together, Frederick proudly became a U.S. citizen, a milestone that meant a great deal to him. Together, he and MaryAnn shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, MaryAnn, along with other cherished family members. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, gardening, woodworking, and relaxing by the beach, but above all, he treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Susan Maglieri and her husband Gregory of Simsbury; Eric Britschock and his wife Cathy of Willington; and Lisa Tapia and her husband Kevin of Sherrills Ford, NC. Frederick also leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Christopher and Erica Maglieri; Scott, Alexander (and his wife Stephanie), and Daniel Britschock; Spencer Gianinoto; and Kassandra Smith (and her husband Chris), as well as his great-granddaughter, Samantha. Per his wishes, there will be no services. In his honor, do an act of kindness for another. For online expressions of sympathy, please visit www.windsorlocksfuneralhome.com

Earlier today

Sad to learn of Fritz's passing. What a gentleman, always smiling and a joy to converse with.I felt special that he shared with me stories of his youth in Germany that involved immense hardships. So glad I saw him only days before he died; he still had that smile in his face and when I left his room we said goodbye to each other in his native German. RIP Fritz.
