George J. DeFloria

Vernon, CT George J. DeFloria "Loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather" George J. DeFloria, 95, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Nardoia) DeFloria for 68 years. George was born in Waterbury, CT on February 26, 1930, a son of the late John and Assunta (DeVito) DeFloria. Before his retirement, George worked for Nelson Freight Ways/ABF as a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Cercemaggiore Community Club for many years and was a proud member of the Teamsters Local #677. Upon retirement, George and Catherine enjoyed 24 years in sunny Mesa, Arizona. While there, George enjoyed making jewelry, stained glass and woodworking. Beside his wife of Vernon, George leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Diana Norris and her husband, James of Tolland, CT, Judy DeFloria of Torrington, CT, granddaughter, Catherine May, great grandchildren, Scarlett and Hawthorne May and many nieces and nephews, including Albert (Natalie) Brunelli, Lisa (Jeff) Burns and Jeannine (Anthony) Giresi all of AZ. He was predeceased by his brothers, Pat, Sal, Frank and John DeFloria and sisters, Angie LaFlamme, Rose LaPorta, Cecilia Lian, Florence Brunelli and Mildred Brown. Arrangements: A calling hour for George will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. A prayer service will follow the wake at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery.
