Geraldine Elizabeth Savage

It is with heavy hearts that we remember Geraldine Elizabeth Savage, who touched the lives of so many during her time with us. Born on January 5, 1939, in Durham, NC, she was the beloved daughter of the late James Oliver McNeil and Eule McNeil. Geraldine leaves behind her cherished daughters, Cheryl D. Bennett of West Haven, CT, and Adrienne Sheats (Eddie) of Hamden, CT. She was a proud grandmother to Eddie M. Sheats and Simone K. Sheats and a devoted great-grandmother to Jayquan Clayton, Tyreese Sheats, Tyson Sheats, Erynn Sheats, and Laurynn Young. Her family, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. In her professional life, Geraldine made her mark at Dorsey Rubber Co., Gant Shirt Co., and Bayer Pharmaceuticals, where she retired at the age of 62. Her spirit was deeply rooted in her faith as a member of Community Baptist Church, where she served as a missionary leader. She found joy in traveling the world and creating lasting memories with her family. She also had a passion for gardening, with her favorite flower being a carnation. She loved to feed the birds and watch the squirrels and other animals play around her yard. She found beauty in the world around her. Geraldine is now reunited with her late husband, John Savage; her daughter, Darlene Savage; and her brothers, Harold and Oliver McNeil. She is also preceded by her sisters, Bessie Stewart and Marion Torrain. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Geraldine's love and warmth will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. May her spirit live on in the hearts of her loved ones, bringing comfort in the cherished memories they hold.
