It is with deep sadness and enduring love that the family of Geraldine Wilson announces her peaceful passing on July 15, 2025, in Hartford, CT at the age of 86.
Born on August 10, 1938, in Danville, VA, Geraldine was the beloved daughter of the late Moses and Edna (Pounds) Brandon. A proud military wife, she traveled across the United States with her devoted husband, the late Wesley Wilson, during his service in the United States Marine Corps. After his retirement, they made Hartford their home, where she built a life centered around faith, family, and love.
Geraldine was a proud Baptist and a devoted member of The Church of the Most High God in Hartford. She served her community with compassion as a Certified Nurse's Aide and continued her legacy of care by opening her home and heart as a foster parent for many years.
Geraldine was the heart of every room she walked into-full of personality, always the life of the party, and never afraid to speak her mind. She was known for her style, her class, and her warm, unapologetic spirit. A true original, Geraldine loved to shop, was known for her impeccable taste and beautifully styled home as well as a love for a McDonald's burger and strawberry milkshake.
Her strength, humor, and boundless love leave a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her. Geraldine Wilson was a force-graceful, bold, and unforgettable-and her legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured and inspired.
She leaves behind her loving children, Barrie Wilson and Shakira Wilson; daughters-in-law Bernadine Jeffries and Karen Wilson; grandchildren, Ricky Wilson and his wife Tiasha, Demond Wilson and his wife Sonia, Lea Wilson, Intimate Wilson, Tracy Wilson-Johnson and her husband Daniel, and Tanya Wilson; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
In addition to her husband, Wesley Wilson, Geraldine was predeceased by her sons, Ricky Wilson and Roland Wilson; sisters, Flossy Cook, Gealy Wilson, Mary Hall, and Pernella Gwynn; and brothers, Johnny Brandon, Goldie Brandon, Willie Brandon, and William Brandon.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 10-11 am., with a Celebration of Geraldine's Life, 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd, Windsor.
