Gerard Roccapriore Obituary

Gerard (Jerry) A. Roccapriore, 63, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born in Meriden, CT, on June 13, 1961, he was the son of the late Gerard B. and Irene Roccapriore. He is survived by his son, Taylor; his daughter Kelsea and his siblings, Sharon Tompkins, of Meriden, Shirl Roccapriore (Dot Caruso) of Provincetown, MA, Ann Flower of Meriden, and Steven Roccapriore (Deborah Belval) of Durham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Horbacewicz. Jerry was a graduate of Orville H. Platt High School, class of 1979. He was named All-Conference Football Defensive Back in his junior year and was Captain in his senior year. Along with his love for football, he excelled in track as a pole vaulter, breaking the school record for highest jump in his senior year. He enjoyed expressing himself through music as a talented drummer in a rock band "Life". After high school graduation, he attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA, earning a B.S. degree in business administration. He then went on to earn his M.B.A. from the University of Bridgeport. Jerry's drive and ambition led him to begin his career working in trading at the NYSE. He then spent the remainder of his career following in his father's footsteps, working in the insurance and finance business. He was employed by Sun Financial Group as a National Sales Training Consultant, and then as a Regional Sales Manager for Mass Mutual. He loved his family and made it a priority to always have time for them, especially at the "homestead". He was a devoted financial donor to the Catholic Church and to his alma mater Northeastern.
