Geronimo Peralta Dela Cruz Obituary
Geronimo "Romy" P. Dela Cruz Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born in Manila, Philippines, Romy lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, love, and devotion to his family and faith.
Romy began his career as a telephone operator, where he met the love of his life, Angela "Lilia" Dela Cruz. They married on August 25, 1963, and together built a strong foundation for their growing family. He later worked as a life insurance agent before seeking opportunities overseas
in the Middle East in the late 1970s, where he became a skilled machinist. In July 1984, he migrated to the United States with the help of his siblings. His first car was a 1973 gold Mach 1 Ford Mustang-a source of great pride and fond memories. He was later joined by his family and eventually retired as a school custodian at Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo-a role he took great pride in, always with a smile and a story to share.
A man of many talents and deep generosity, Romy was known as a social butterfly and a natural storyteller. He loved Bingo, dancing, singing, and drawing, and he never missed a chance to travel or spend time with family and friends. Though a strict and disciplined father, his love and
lessons continue to shape generations. His presence filled every room with laughter, warmth, and wisdom.
He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and one of the first members of the Filipino Ministry in Temecula – Lord of Pardon. His faith guided his life, and his kindness touched everyone who knew him.
Romy is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Angela "Lilia" Dela Cruz; his parents, Petronilo and Genoveva Dela Cruz; and his siblings, Rosalina Paningbatan and Rodrigo Dela Cruz.
He is lovingly remembered by his children and their families:
