Harold DeGroff Obituary

Born in Schenectady, NY, on June 12, 1934, he was the son of the late Caryl and Almina (Scutt) DeGroff. Harold was a graduate of Schoharie Central School in Schoharie, NY, where he was an avid basketball and baseball player, as well as president of his class. He went on to attend Central Connecticut State College, followed by a career at Pratt and Whitney, to which he retired after 34 years. Harold was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where he served in the 2nd Flight Engine on P2V Bomber. He and Jackie were snowbirds and enjoyed many years of travel. When in Florida, his favorite breakfast spot was BD Beans and in Connecticut it was Savvi's. Harold was a big red Sox's fan and never missed Monday bingo at the senior center. He is predeceased by his wife and best friend, Jacqueline of 24 years and his daughter Katherine, brother Keneth, sister Doris and brother-in-law Phil. He is survived by his sister-in-law Pat DeGroff and many nieces and nephews of Schoharie, NY.
