Herbert H. Dougan Jr.

Herbert H. Dougan, Jr., 82, of Bolton, beloved husband of Maureen (Benito) Dougan, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2025. Herb graduated from Howell Cheney Tech and was employed for over 35 years with the Town of Manchester Water Department. A member of the Army Navy Club and NRA, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing pool. He leaves behind his wife Maureen, son Sean-Patrick Dougan and his wife Merridith, grandsons Owen and Charlie, his sister Gail Filler, in-laws Bobby and Ruth Benito, Kathy Byer, Colin Benito, Brian Benito and his wife Itria, Janet Lovell and her husband Joseph; nephews Lance Filler, Shaun Byer, Brian Benito Jr, David Byer, Matthew Benito, Michael Benito, Joey Lovell and Justin Benito; nieces Debbie Bolognani, Christine Iderosa, Stephanie Iderosa, Rita Lovell, Cassandra Benito, Carrie Ann Iderosa, Jacqueline Powers, Alana Benito and Grace Iderosa York, and grandnieces and nephews Stephen Bolognani, Payton Benito, Dana Dillenbeck, Loralye Benito, Aubrey Benito, Madison Benito, Gavin Benito, Alexander Baer, Lucy Powers and Alice Baez. He was predeceased by his father and mother Francis and Mary (Sullivan) Taft, his in-laws Robert and Rita Benito, his brother-in-law James Byer, sister-in-law Nancy Iderosa and great-niece Jessica Bolognani. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service following at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester.
