Hugh Graham Obituary

Hugh Edward Graham III of Boynton Beach, Florida, formally of Wallingford and Hamden, CT, peacefully entered heaven after a long illness on August 29, 2025 in Boynton Beach, Florida. Hugh was born to Hugh Edward Graham Jr. and Amelia Ann Searles Graham on July 10, 1943 in Webster MA. In 1952 at the age of 9, he moved to Hamden CT with his family and attended Hamden Public Schools, where he graduated from Hamden High School class of 1962. Hugh attended the Connecticut School of Electronics and in 1964, he joined the Army National Guard in West Haven, CT. He joined the Heat and Frost Insulators Local 33 in CT and worked as an Insulation Installer for them until June 1984, when he was asked by Cummings Insulation (subsequently purchased by Claremont) to join their office staff as an Estimator. He accepted their offer and worked for them until his retirement on January 2, 2007. Hugh met his future wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" D'Acunto in November of 1969 as they both were part of their friend's wedding party. They started dating in December of 1969 and were married on July 25, 1970 and celebrated 55 years together. They were each other's rock, strongest advocate of each other and weathered the challenges of a lasting relationship. Hugh and Jackie spent their first year of marriage in New Haven before building their home in Wallingford where they raised their three children, John (Isabelle Demers), Brian (Barbara Schaap) and Debra "Debi" LeVesque (Sean). They lived there for 44 years before selling their home to their son, John. In 2007 they became "Snowbirds", splitting their time between Wallingford and Boynton Beach until becoming full-time Floridians in 2015. Hugh was a die-hard Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, bocce, cornhole, being a member of his neighborhood watch, Citizens Observer Patrol (COPs), part of the Boynton Beach Police Department. Hugh liked to travel throughout the United States as well as China, Europe, Mexico, Panama, and the Caribbean Islands. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren; Andrew, Trevor, Colin, and Ashley Graham, Taylor LeVesque, Phoenix, Isla, and Sierra Demers. He is survived by his loving wife, children, his grandchildren, his dear sister Patricia Graham DeMatties (deceased Peter R. DeMatties), their three children, Lynne Cole, (daughters Michelle Baker (Spencer) (daughter Colby Jane) Samantha Cole & fiancé Steven Gargiulo (Gianni), Doreen DeMatties (son Peter Christiano), and Elaine DaCunto (Larry). Hugh is also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda D'Acunto Lynam (Tom), their children Jennifer Bendett (Lee) (children Conor, Kate and Declan), Laura Lynam (son Mark) and Susan Lynam (daughter Lucy) as well as many dear friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Calling hours will be from 9:30am – 11:00am followed by a prayer service at 11am at Peter H. Torello and Son Funeral Home 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT. Burial will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Transplant Foundation ( www.americantransplantfoundation )
