James Bishop Obituary

James Bishop, 61 passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025 with the care and comfort of his wife by his side. James was born January 7, 1964 in Westfield, to mother Ann Bishop. James started his career journey as a jeweler, then moved onto becoming a motorcycle mechanic, but really, he was a jack of all trades both professionally and personally. He enjoyed fully restoring his 66 Ford Mustang coupe. James was a distinguished Rifleman member of the President's Hundred. He won two MA state championships and one New Hampshire State Championship in the early 2000's. James and his wife Lisa were avid vacationers, with Yellowstone and Mt. Rainier National Parks being their favorite places to visit. They hiked and backpacked through many National Parks, including all of New England. James was an accomplished sailor, with him and Lisa taking their boat to places in Otis, Pittsfield and New York. James leaves behind his beloved wife Lisa Bishop. They were married for 36 wonderful years. James was predeceased by his mother Ann Bishop, his brother Daniel Bishop, and his beloved dog Indy. A church service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Central Baptist Church, 115 Elm Street, Westfield MA at 1 PM. This will be followed by a small celebration of life in the community room.
