James W. Myrick

James Wesley Myrick, 61, of Middletown, passed away on July 11, 2025. James was born in Alburquerque, New Mexico on April 15, 1964. A proud US Airforce Veteran, James served his country with honor, continuing a legacy of military service that runs deep in his family, including his father, mother, brother and brother-in-law. Growing up in a military family, James got to experience many different places and cultures. James served six years, from 1984-1990 in the US Airforce as a Senior Airman; tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. After service in the military, James worked over 20 years as a machinist making aircraft parts. He ended his career working for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company. James had a spirited presence in any social setting, a smile that could light up a room, connecting with people instantly and creating a lasting impression. James was loyal, loved deeply and was known for his hugs. He was silly, a bit of a prankster, always looking for a good laugh. James is survived by his wife Sheila. James and Sheila met and fell in love in Alexandria, Virginia in 1991. They would have been celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this October. James is also survived by his father and mother Ronald and Karen Myrick, his brother and sister-in-law Ronald Myrick II and Joan and sister and brother-in-law Terri and John Payelle. James will be missed by many other loved ones and family friends in the Myrick and Harger families. James will also be missed by his Daley Family, including Howie, Lisa, Stephen and Karen and the circle of relatives that extend from each of them. Family and friends may call on the Myrick family on Monday July 21, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A service will be held at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday July 22, 2025, starting at 10:00am. Burial to follow at 12:00pm at the State Veteran Cemetery on 317 Bow Lane in Middletown.
