James F Skinner

James Francis Skinner, age 88, a resident of Clinton, CT passed away October 13th, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. James was born November 18, 1936, in New Britain, CT, son of the late Francis and Victoria (Acorn) Skinner. In his youth, Jim lived in Southington and attended high school there. He served in the United States Marine Corp. (USMC) from November 1953 through November 1956 attaining the rank of sergeant. He transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve to continue serving the military through November, 1961. James was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft located in North Haven. His career spanned 35 years, and he retired as General Foreman. In retirement, Jim enjoyed family and friends. He loved to hunt and fish. His other passions included golf, skiing, and travel. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #1784, the V.F.W., and the American Legion. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Laskowski, and her husband Gary of East Haddam, and Laurie Davis, and her husband Scott of Madison; three cherished grandsons William (Felicia) Larson, Beau (Emma) Larson, and Gage Laskowski and two great grandchildren, Lillian and Odin Larson; as well as many nieces . Jim is predeceased by his sister Shirley Clark, as well as a nephew. To honor our father's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private, family memorial service is planned.
