James Wren Obituary

JAMES H. WREN, SR. "Loving husband, father and grandfather" James H. Wren Sr. age 84 of Watertown and formerly of Oakville passed away peacefully September 28, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Ciriello) Wren. James was born December 20, 1940 in Plymouth, PA a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Caruthers) Uren. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Falls Avenue Senior Center in Oakville. Above all, James always found his greatest joy being surrounded by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know and love him. James is remembered by all as a kind, gentle soul who always had much greater pleasure in giving and providing for others rather than receiving. Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves his sons James Wren Jr. and his wife Maria of Prescott, AZ, Joseph Wren and his wife Loren of East Lyme, his grandchildren Angel, Christian, Katy, Sean and Trevin Wren and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Lopez, Francine Uren, Ida Jenkins, his brothers Joseph Uren, William Uren, Arthur Wren, Orville Wren, and Henry Uren. I worked with Jimmy at Seymour Smith. You couldn't ask for a more pleasant co-worker. My condolences to the family.

Mary, Jim and Joey, I am so saddened to read of Jimmy´s passing. Being neighbors on Van Ormond Street I´ve known you all for decades. I would often see Jimmy at 7-11 and catch up on the latest news about family and friends. My favorite memory of him was when we would go to Latin´s Pond to get frog and come and feast on frogs legs. I will always miss my friend and I I pray for Peace and Comfort that only our Lord and Savior can give for your family.
