Janet "Star" Michaud

Janet "Star" (Lindley) Michaud, 78, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Michaud, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Hartford on July 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Irving Lindley and Hazel (Henderling) Misciagna. Star and Joe were married 51 years and had a wonderful life together raising their two children. A resident of Windsor Locks for over 55 years, Janet had a long and fulfilling career in the insurance industry eventually retiring from MetLife. She was a devoted member of Mary Gate of Heaven parish, where she taught CCD after retirement, sharing her faith with younger generations. Star was a loving and hard-working wife and mother. She found her greatest joy in the company of her family, especially her grandkids for whom she attended as many activities and sporting events as possible. Star had a heart of gold and was a generous friend and neighbor. She was a talented crocheter and a great cook, always filling her home with warmth and love, especially during the holidays. Everyone loved her Thanksgiving turkey! She leaves behind her children, Terrie Fox and her husband Robert of Vernon Center, NY, and Gary Michaud and his wife Heidi of Kensington; her cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Shane, Mason, and Bailey; her sisters, Lori Lang and her husband Gil and Pinky Roy and her husband Phil; her brother, Reggie Misciagna and his partner Madeleine Rees; her stepfather, Nick Misciagna; her longtime friend and neighbor, Marlene Oliveira; and many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, and extended family members. Star's family will miss her very much, but are comforted to know she is reunited with Joe and her other loved ones who went before her. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks. Please meet directly at the church.
