Obituary of Jennifer E. Matthews Jennifer E. (Lyle) Matthews, 64, of Glastonbury, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on July 15, 1960 in Hartford to Brooks and Judith (Caton) Lyle. Jennifer graduated from the University of Hartford and worked as an actuary for Travelers Insurance on and off since her 20s, taking time off to raise her three children. Jennifer had a lust for life and was an avid runner, having ran 28 full marathons, many ultra marathons and trail races. She also loved picking up her knitting needles and creating pieces for her loved ones. Jennifer spent many hours outside, cultivating a beautiful garden and planting new things every year. One of her greatest joys was being a mother and grandmother. Jennifer is survived by her children, Matthew Palazzo and his wife, Melissa of Marlborough, Jessica Palazzo of Wethersfield, Samuel Palazzo of Rocky Hill, her grandson, Dylan Palazzo and her cat Nacho. She is also survived by her mother Judith Tassistro of Manchester, and her brother Thomas Lyle and his wife Donna formerly of South Windsor. She was predeceased by her father Brooks Lyle. Calling hours will be held on Friday February 21 from 5 to 7 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. A celebration of life will happen at a later time.
