Jerri Flis

Jerri (Ruede) Flis, 88, of Meriden, formerly of 85 Cardinal Dr., died on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Connecticut Baptist Home. She was the wife of the late Charles G. Flis Sr. Jerri was employed in retail sales in the Meriden area for many years, having worked at G. Fox, Filene's and Macy's. She made many friends when working and enjoyed time with all of them outside of work. She was dedicated to taking care of her family starting with her 3 children then her grandchildren and then was the sole caretaker of her husband until he passed away. She had a passion for reading that she passed down to her children. She is survived by her children, Kim Covatis and her husband, Charles of New Hampshire, and Wayne Flis of Meriden; her grandchildren, Ian Flis and Nathan Flis; her step grandchildren, Amy Morse, Nicole Covatis and Bethany Roy; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and son, Charles Flis Jr. She had no siblings but had 2 cousins that were like sisters to her and an aunt that was like a mother. One of her second cousins, Michael Mendyka, has visited her regularly since she was a resident at the Baptist Home and she looked forward to those visits. Throughout her adult life she was a parishioner at St. Rose in Meriden. She had a soft spot in her heart for the kids at St. Jude's and was a regular contributor. At Jerri's request please consider making a donation in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private.
