Joan Summers Obituary

Joan Summers passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025. She was born in New Haven, CT on May 11, 1941, to the late June and Donald Bacon. Joan grew up alongside her sister Janice Coppola in West Haven, CT. She attended West Haven High School, and later married her loving husband of 66 years, Harold Summers. Joan loved anything to do with cardinals, seahorses, and boxer dogs. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Above all, Joan was a loving and devoted wife and mother who left behind her four children, Patricia, William, Janice, and June. She also leaves behind her 8 grandchildren, whom she loved tremendously; William Summers Jr, Justin Summers, Michelle (Kevin) Carmody, Jena Berglund, Ryan Turner, Taylor Hicks, and Hannah Selmani, and was predeceased by her granddaughter Aimee Larson. She also adored her great-granddaughter, Cora. Along with her children and grandchildren, Joan leaves behind 2 nieces. Her family will remember Joan as a lovely, humble, funny, and kind woman who always knew the right thing to say or do. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
