Joe Kane Obituary

Joe "Tree" Kane, 57, of West Haven, passed away tragically on August 15, 2025. A son of the late Joseph P. and Barbara Livingston Kane, he was a beloved brother and friend whose kindness, humor, and loyalty touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Joe is survived by his brother, Mike Kane, Mike's wife, Kate, Joe's nephews Mikey and Justin Kane and many cousins as well as countless friends who were like family to him. Among his closest friends were Tommy P, Dave H, Danny P, Shirley P, and Side Gurnsy. Though too numerous to name, Joe cherished each and every one of his friends, and his circle of love extended far and wide. A true outdoorsman, Tree was an arborist by trade. He was also a skillful woodworker and enjoyed crafting stone and masonry projects. His most creative, artistic passion included drawing. Joe had a deep love for nature and animals, and he found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. He will be remembered most for his willingness to help anyone in need, his big heart, and his way of making people laugh even during hard times. Joe's legacy will live on in the memories of all who loved him and in the laughter he shared so freely. Friends are welcome to celebrate the life of Joe "Tree" Kane on Thursday September 18, 2025 at the West Haven Funeral Home from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has created a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses and to honor Joe's memory. Contributions may be made at https://gofund.me/96afabc8.
