Jose Bordalo Obituary
Joe Bordalo, of Windsor, CT, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He was born April 21st, 1956, in Hartford, CT, son of Maria Bordalo. This picture with his wife Donna was taken February 15th, 2025. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and service. He was a teacher and a guide, stepping in to help others whenever life's challenges arose. His family, in particular, will forever remember him for the deep love he poured into every relationship.
Joe's world revolved around his loved ones. He was a devoted husband, father to his step-children, and a son who held his mother close to his heart. His siblings, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews all knew him as a man who was always there offering support, guidance, and most importantly, hugs when they were needed most. He cherished his trips to Portugal and his family there. Joe's care and devotion to his family were beyond measure, and he was loved deeply by all who knew him.
A man of great integrity, Joe always did the right thing, driven by a moral compass that guided every decision. His analytical mind and attention to detail were hallmarks of his over 45 year career as an engineer with Hamilton Standard, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon Technologies. His curiosity was boundless, yet it was always tempered by his calm, cool, steady nature that made him not only a great teacher but also a great listener.
A second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, Joe embraced discipline and strength, but it was his loving and sweet demeanor that truly defined him. His joy for adventure was reflected in his passion for Harley Davidsons and his cherished Pontiac Grand Prix. He was a meticulous craftsman who enjoyed "tinkering" with his many toys. Music was another great love of Joe's, and he found joy in playing his bass guitar. He also had an undeniable sweet tooth, particularly for his mother's custard.
Joe is survived by his wife Donna Edelstein, his two step-sons Sam and Nathan Edelstein; his father inlaw Allan Jordan; his sister and brother in-laws Lauri Miller (David) and Ronald Jordan (Elizabeth); his mother Maria Bordalo; his siblings and their spouses Maria Thorne (Robert), Herminia Tuell (Timothy), John Bordalo (Karen), Al Bordalo, and Fred Bordalo (Sherry – predeceased); his nieces and nephews Christine Wood (Joe), David Tuell (Sherry), Mark Gilvary (Crystal), Vanessa Perkins (Shawne), Matthew Bordalo, Tara Estrada, Karrie Bemis (Marc), Jason Miller (Rochelle), Elise Miller (Daniel Leff), William Jordan (Shivi); his many dearly loved grand nieces and nephews; and many extended family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
