Joseph Doria Obituary

Giuseppe "Joseph" Doria, 80, of West Haven, passed away peacefully at his home on June 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Carol Doria. Joe was born in Melissa, Italy on May 27,1945, a son of the late Andrea and Luisa (Leonetti) Doria. Joe served in the United States Air Force. He spent most of his career working as a welder and enjoyed working with his hands. He especially loved sports and was the team captain for both his bowling and dart leagues. Everyone that knew Joe, knew he was a diehard fan of the NY Mets and NY Giants, evidenced by the constant team shirts he wore on rotation. The life of the party, no matter the occasion, it was customary to "take a shot" with Joe. Known for his infectious smile, kind nature and strong sense of family, Joe will be sadly missed by all. Joe was the loving father of Aldo (Zulaika) and Deanna (Michael); beloved Pop-Pop of Fernando (Layza), Aliya, Ava and Gianna, and proud great grandfather of Noemi. He is survived by his brothers, Dominic and Peter and sisters, Mary Vance and Theresa Angeloni as well as his many nephews and nieces. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brothers Aldo, Antonio and Frank. The family will hold private services at a later date.
