Joseph Libratore Obituary

Joseph Libratore, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday August 27, 2025. Born in Hartford, the first of the Libratore children born in a hospital, son of the late Samuel and Vincenza (Mariani) Libratore, he was a life-long Bloomfield resident on the family farm where he and his sister Rose lived together until her death. He was happily employed for his entire career by the Phoenix Insurance Co in work he enjoyed. Joseph owned a wide variety of breeds of dogs over the years which he showed at Springfield, MA dog shows. His dogs won many awards as he had many championship dogs. He leaves his brother Salvatore Libratore of Avon and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. The farm holds wonderful memories of times spent with the whole family tobogganing and ice skating. They also cherish the times spent with both Joe and Sal at the Connecticut shore. Besides his parents he was predeceased by eight siblings Dominick Libratore, Alvera Maznicki, Lillian Martocchio, Marion Seaha, Louis Libratore, John Libratore, Angline Nadeau, and Rose Libratore. A graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, 12:00 PM directly at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial Donations may be made to the ASPCA in Joseph's Memory. The Carmon Windsor Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements.
