Joshua Deveau

Joshua Eugene Deveau, 40, a lifelong resident of Somers, CT, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 4, 1985, in Rockville, CT, the beloved son of Donald Deveau, of Somers, CT and Debroah Clancy & her husband, Gene, of Newington, CT. In addition to his parents, he survived by his brother, Matt Deveau & his partner, Jennifer Mangold, of Stafford Springs, CT, his partner, Brittany Deveau, his stepson, Devon Mercado & the absolute love of his life and the girl he would do anything for, his daughter, Skylar Deveau, all of Somers, CT. He also is survived by his maternal grandparents, Gene & Joan Badger, of Somers, CT, his in-laws, Debra & Wayne McCormack of Somers, CT and his godfather, Steve Plourde, of Zephyrhills, FL and his godmother, Lori Badger, of Ellington, CT. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved and enjoyed seeing at all the family functions since he was a young child. He also had a special bond with his dog child, Bella, who loved him very much. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Donna Deveau. Josh was known around town as the person who would drop what he was doing to help a family member, a friend or a stranger. He was a fixture of his community, growing up through the Somers School System. He had so many friends, many of which he stayed in touch with as they got older. He loved summer afternoons playing a round of golf with his father and brother, to catch up on life. When he wasn't maintaining his landscaping business, he would spend every moment with his daughter, Skylar, whom he truly adored. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for her. They would be spending time fishing, going for a drive together or staring at the stars in the night sky before she would go to bed. He was her rock. Together, they were a team! The family would like to extend a special thank you to Josh's friends, the community, especially Bumpa Built, for their support and generosity. The family would also like to recognize the Somers Fire Dept Station 46 for their amazing outreach and kindness during this most difficult time for the Deveau family. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers, CT. A blessing will conclude the services at the funeral home. The family welcomes all to a Celebration of Josh's life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 236 Main St. Somers, CT. Everyone can gather, share memories and be together. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Skylar's previously established education fund.
