Kathleen Herrmann Wright

Kathleen Herrmann Wright (Kathy as she was known by friends and family), passed away in her sleep early Monday March 31st 2025, after a battle with cancer. Born in New Haven to David and Mary Herrmann, Kathy, was a precocious student, spending whole summers on her porch with a good book. She was an avid bowler and was ranked number three in the country for her age. Kathy attended Manhattanville for undergraduate and would go on to earn a masters in social work as well as a law degree from UConn. She was a husky's fan her whole life, following every UConn woman's basketball game. After college, she discovered a new passion, travel. Throughout her life Kathy travelled the world, from Iceland to Thailand, to Peru and everywhere in between, even completing a trip to Egypt in 2024. Kathy met her husband, Andrew Wright, while working as a guidance counselor, but would spend most of her career working for the Connecticut General Assembly as a Chief Attorney at the LCO. She had two children, Matthew and Michael, and settled in East Granby where she raised dogs, westies and cocker spaniels, and worked tirelessly in her gardens. She is survived by her husband, Andrew, brother David, sons, and many beloved family and friends. Kathy's family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 4-7PM at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 10:00AM at St. Therese Church, 120 W. Granby Road, Granby, CT 06035.
