Kenneth F. Verrastro Sr.

KENNETH F. VERRASTRO, SR. Kenneth F. Verrastro, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Aida E. Verrastro. Born on March 12, 1939, Ken was the son of William "Vito" and Marie (Fabiano) Verrastro. Raised in Waterbury, Ken was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and held a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut. He worked as a Tax Collector in the Department of Revenue Services for the State of Connecticut for over 20 years and was a former Tax Collector for the city of Waterbury. Ken was active in local Waterbury politics, enjoyed attending concerts, and had a love for Italian cuisine. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his family. In addition to Aida, his beloved wife of 48 years, Ken is survived by his children Kenny Verrastro and his partner Yuvisa Hundley of Orlando, FL, Christopher J. Verrastro and his wife Selma of Avon, and Aida D. Verrastro of Torrington. He also leaves his grandchildren Brendon LeClerc, Ajlin Verrastro, and Sofie Verrastro. Ken's family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Ken's final days. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 9:00am – 10:30am with a funeral service beginning at 10:30am at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury.
