Krystyna Pietruszka Obituary

Krystyna Alicja Pietruszka, 88, passed away peacefully at home in Middletown on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was born on October 26, 1936, in Lódz, Poland, and was the only child of Stanislaw and Helena Nawrocki. After completing culinary school, Krystyna pursued her lifelong passion for cooking, working as a cook and chef throughout her life. In 1962, she married her beloved husband Miroslaw, and together they raised their three children in Lódz. In 1993, Krystyna and Miroslaw moved to Meriden, Connecticut, to be closer to their children and growing family. Cooking was her way of showing love. Krystyna was always in the kitchen, preparing meals for her family-especially for her grandchildren when they returned home from school. She was known for her generosity at the table and would always insist everyone take one more serving. As her health began to decline, Krystyna moved in with her youngest daughter, where she continued to enjoy a high quality of life surrounded by her loved ones. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to her caretaker, Ula Bandula, for the dedicated care and support she provided over the last few years. Krystyna is survived by her children, Lucy, Jerzy, and Mira; her son-in-law, Andy; her daughter-in-law, Gosia; her grandchildren, Maciek, Przemek, Conrad, Andzelika, Patrick, and Olivia; and her great-grandchildren, Julian, Damen, Adrian, Julia, Maya, Alan, Colston, Remy, and Evelina. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 AM at Ss Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Ct, Hartford, CT 06106. Burial will be in Poland. Krystyna was deeply loved by her family and friends. A true matriarch, she was a source of strength, warmth, and tradition. She will be missed dearly but remembered always.
