Leland Mack Obituary

Leland E. Mack, 85, a longtime resident of Granby, beloved husband of Lorraine (Lukszis) Mack, passed away on Friday September 12, 2025, with loving family and his beloved service dog, Betty-Boop, by his side. Born in West Center Harbor, NH, son of the late Earle and Charolette Paige Mack. Leland was raised in West Center Harbor, NH, earning his high school diploma through the military after enlisting at 17 years old. Leland proudly served his country for six years as a US Marine. After his time in the military, he worked driving trucks and working at a garage before getting a job at Connecticut printers in Bloomfield CT. From there he moved up to Cigna where they furthered his education as a graphic arts printer. Leland was a Graphics Arts Printer for 30 years with Cigna Insurance Group, due to medical conditions Leland was forced to retire. Leland was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge in Bloomfield CT, right up to the closing of their doors, he was also a major contributor and founding participant of Mark's Auto Parts Car Shows. Leland was involved with this event for over 20 years and enjoyed prepping the grounds every week, mowing the grass prior to the car show. Leland had a passion for antique cars, owning a few old cars as well, he enjoyed going to all the local car shows, often recognizing folks for the type of car they had before remembering their name. Back in the day he enjoyed racing snow mobiles and drag racing at Lebanon Valley, yearly hunting trips to NH and VA, breeding and showing Skiperkee dogs for the better part of 20 years. Many years he and his guy group would drive to Florida for the Daytona 500, ritually driving, none of them would ever want to fly, they enjoyed the drive together. Due to some of his own health complications, Leland was in need of blood transfusions and was pictured on the Red Cross posters to please donate blood as he was a recipient of over a thousand units of blood in his lifetime. Leland will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine Mack of Granby, CT; son, Lenny W. Mack of Granby, CT; grandchildren, Laney Mack, Lee Mack and Danielle Mack; sister, Evelyn George of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Leland also leaves a beloved Boston Terrier service dog, Betty Boop. Predeceased by both parents, Earle and Charolette Mack, brothers, Larry Mack and Herbert Mack.
