Lenor Carabetta Obituary

Lenor C. Carabetta, 76, of Meriden, wife of the late Joseph Carabetta, passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer on October 11, 2025 at her summer cottage in Westbrook with her family by her side. Lenor was born in Meriden on December 23, 1948, a daughter of the late Herman and Albina (Woronick) Drechsler. She graduated from Platt Highschool in 1966 with a dream of being a homemaker. She stayed at home raising her children util they started high school. She then worked at Miller Johnson, Hull Printing and Target until she retired. Lenor was known for her spunky attitude everywhere. She loved her sweets, shopping, love for travel, collecting shells at the beach, her plants, feeding the birds, love for music and dancing. She was full of life, nothing could ever bring her down. She was known for her smile and her love for her family & cat. Family and friends were a very important part of her life and she looked forward to family gathering and quality time with her friends. She loved the time that she would get with her grandkids and daughter. She had reconnected with her best friend Nancy. Their time together was precious. Most of all Lenor loved life and her goal in life was to put a smile on everyone's face. She always made people comfortable when they were with her. Lenor was a very sweet, kind soul who will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her and the lives that she touched. She fought to the very end. A special thank you to family and friends who helped care for Lenor. Lenor is survived by her daughter, Julie Browne of Middletown; her brothers, Dale Drechsler of Fort Pierce, Florida and Peter Dreschler of Canton, Ohio; her sister, Pam Ranno of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and her grandchildren, Ryan of Higganum, Connecticut, Alexandria and Nicholas Browne of Middletown, Connecticut. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Carabetta Jr and her sister, Anita Staschke. Lenor's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Interment will be private.
