Linda Colomb Obituary

Linda (Wilson) Colomb, 73, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025 at her home in Winsted, Connecticut. Born on February 6, 1952 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Sherwood and Dorothy (Heath) Wilson. She grew up in New Hartford, graduated from Northwestern Regional #7 High School and continued her education at Quinnipiac College. Linda spent over 20 years as a Medical Lab Technician at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and later, continued her work at Quest Diagnostics until a life-changing acquired brain injury in 2001. Linda loved spending time at home, tending to her garden and caring for her family. She enjoyed frequent gatherings with her extended family and was proud of her career. Reserved and independent, Linda was a beautiful example of quiet strength and generosity to all that knew her. She was a devoted wife, a warm and ever-present mom, a protective sister, a loving grandma, and a hard worker. In her later years, Linda filled her days with reading, creating beautiful needlepoint and visiting tag sales. She also took several continuing education classes at NCCC. She enjoyed Hallmark movies, visits with her grandsons and the companionship of her beloved cats. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Weaver and her husband Shawn, and their son Xavier Weaver; her son, Jay P. Colomb and his sons, Tré and Charlie Colomb. She is also survived by her siblings: Woody Wilson, Gloria Tino, Arlene Wilson, Debora Almasoudi and Forrest Wilson; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Jay A. Colomb; her parents; her sister, Dottie Wunder; and her brother, Errol Wilson. Special gratitude is extended to Linda's sister, Gloria, who was her irreplaceable caregiver and housemate for over 17 years. The rest of the family is forever indebted to Gloria for the incredible love, patience and care she gave to Linda throughout the years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, at the family's discretion. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of arrangements. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com. Linda will be remembered for her incredible strength, boundless love for her family and quiet yet profound impact on all who knew her.
