Luigi Rotondo

Luigi Rotondo, 91, died of natural causes on June 18, 2025. Luigi was born on April 14, 1934, in San Giovanni Paganica, Province of L'Aquila, Italy and came to the United States as a teenager and lived the remainder of his life in Avon, CT. Luigi was predeceased by his daughter Julie-Ann Rotondo Poll, and his parents Francesco and Maria Rotondo. Luigi leaves his wife of 65 years, Mary (Calcagni) Rotondo; his son Francis Rotondo; his sister and brother-in-law Milena and Bill Foley of Orlando, FL, his cherished grandchildren Christine Poll of East Granby and Gregory (Lyndsey) Poll of Suffield, two great-grandchildren – Kai and Henry, his son-in-law Mike Poll of East Granby; his two nephews Mario (Lisa) Solari of Farmington and Paul Foley of Starkville, MS; and great nieces and nephews Elisia and Julia Foley and Cate, James, and John Solari. Luigi was employed most of his adult life by A. Rotondo & Sons in Avon. Luigi enjoyed being with his family, cooking, gardening, hunting, and fishing, and was an active member (Past President) of the Prince Thomas of Savoy Society (Italian Club in Avon). Later in life he started playing golf; became an avid golfer and amassed an incredible record of 13 hole-in-ones. Luigi's family will receive friends on Friday June 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10 AM directly at Saint Ann Cemetery.
