Lydia Marrero

Lydia Marrero, 80, of Hartford, passed away comfortably in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born in Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Juan Rosa and Jacinta Sanchez, and moved to Hartford, CT at age 16. In 1979, Lydia began working as a Home Health Aide and retired from VNA Health Care after over 30 years of service. She cherished spending time with her family and found great joy in attending church, where her faith shone brightly. Lydia will be missed by her son Freddy Marrero, Jr., grandchildren Freddy, Juan, Orlando, and great-grandchildren Freddy Jr., Paris, Londyn, Leilani, and baby Cuty. She is survived by her beloved siblings Maria, Carmen, Daniel and his wife Helen, and Iris and her husband Hector. Lydia will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews, including Oneida and her son, who cared for her and kept her company. She is predeceased by her dear sister Isabel (Chavela), brother Andres (Chame), and loving daughter Luz Naida (Cuty). Family and friends are invited to honor Lydia's life at her wake on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Funeral Service will take place that evening in the funeral home at 7:00 pm. Those planning to attend the burial are invited to gather at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
